Karappatti Update--karaipatti SriMuthumariamman Kumbabhishekam


Sampath and Sundararajan visited to K Patti and attended functions from 9th evening onwards. It went on well. Previously there was a Vinayagar facing east in front of the Agraharam near the temple. Later it has been demolished and kept the Vinayagar facing West and the agraharam started deteriorating, and the person who did it was also not well, this is the story by the villagers. The Vinayagar is in the same position. But the Agraharam people with the help of the others installed  ONE NEW VINAYAGAR, RAGHU AND KETHU  in the ssme plae where the original one was there, by constructing the platform and POOJAS were carried out and on Saturday THIRUKKALYANAM was also performed to ARASU AND VEMBU WHICH WAS PLANTED BEFORE 3 YEARS.
As already planned by us, Mr Sivaraman has arranged for the VINAYAGAR AND RAGHU KETHU which wer now place in the entrance.The other statues  SRI BHAKTHA ANJANEYAR AND SRI DHAKSHINAMURTHY ARE TO BE INSTALLED IN THE FRONT VARRANDHA OF THE BAJANAIMADAM, for which we have provided the platforms now. They have to be installed in the month of Ayppasi. In the meantime we have construct the compound wall and toilets for the visitors stay, as we are not in a position to avail the house of Sivaraman.Now his brother Mr. Ramani is assisting for the developement of the bajanaimadam and temple.

If the people belongs to   Karaipatti come forward to help this could be done with the grace of theLord SRI LAKSHMINARAYANA PERUMAL.

A bank director in the country of France. He was keen on having a darshan of PeriyavargaL, having heard about him. Dr. Raghavan used to receive frequent phone calls (from the bank director). He would ask if he could come and have a darshan of PeriyavargaL. Dr. Raghavan (who was a Sanskrit professor in the Madras University) would inform PeriyavargaL about the request. Even though he had told, "He is very keen to have darshan of PeriyavargaL; he bothers me frequently", PeriyavargaL did not give his consent. Some years passed in this way.
Suddenly one day Dr. Raghavan received tidings that said, 'I have arrived at Bombay. I shall come over to Madras and meet you. Should please arrange for the darshan.'
At that time our Acharyas were staying in Mylapore Sanskrit College. One evening Dr. Raghavan was waiting to have darshan of PeriyavargaL. PeriyavargaL called him and inquired. When told about the Frechman's proposed visit to Chennai, PeriyavargaL said, "Alright, bring him."
Before he sat for the upanyAsam after the puja, PeriyavargaL called me and said, "If any European turns up, seat him on a chair, as he would not be able to sit on the floor. I shall see him after the upanyAsam."
When the upanyAsam was over and PeriyavargaL was about to get inside, he asked, "Did anyone turn up?" "No one turned up", I replied. At that time a man wearing a dhoti and towel came to the front and prostrated to PeriyavargaL four times. (The sampradaya is to always prostrate to sannyAsis four times.) Behind the man came Dr. Raghavan and SankaraNarayana Aiyer (professor of Philosophy at Mylai Vivekananda College). Since that European came in dhoti and towel I was misled. PeriyavargaL told me, "Ask him how did he knew about prostrating four times." The Eurpoean said, "I did as everyone did here."
PeriyavargaL told me, "Bring only the Frenchman." I said, "I wouldn't understand the English he speaks. It would be better if Dr. Raghavan or SanakaraNarayana Aiyer is present."
"The English you know would suffice. You bring him," quipped PeriyavargaL. Dr. Raghavan and SankaraNarayana Aiyer stood outside the thatti (a coconut leaf weaved sheet of cover).
The Frenchman who came inside and sat spoke: "I am studying Vedanta for sometime now. Suddenly one day I felt that my entire body had gone numb, that I was residing outside the body, and my figure was extended from the earth to the sky. I also saw universes hanging from my body. It was very blissful at that time. There was no trace of sorrow. After this incident, nothing bothers my mind in my daily life. My wife deceased. My son too was dead. These occasions did not create any ripple in my mind. I was always blissful.
"People in the bank think I am insane, looking at this mental state of mine. So I have an inherent fear that one day they might put me behind the bars (of a hospital)."
PeriyavargaL asked him, "What is inside? And what is outside? Aren't all things inside four walls?"
This question created a big change in him. He requested PeriyavargaL, "You should be always with me." Finally, he asked PeriyavargaL about someupadesham.
PeriyavargaL said, "What you are doing now (meditation), you continue. I shall be with you till your attainment." He tore a piece of the vastram he was wearing then and gave it to the Frenchman with the words, "Keep this always with you as my prasAdam." Such a heap of anugraha for him on that day. He took leave with immense happiness, having received the grace.
Coming outside, the Frenchman prostrated to Dr. Raghavan and said, "It was only because of you I got this much bhAgyaM."
PeriyavargaL went to bed after they were gone. After he retired, I asked him about a doubt in my mind.
Without replying anything to me, PeriyavargaL lapsed into sleep. He called me the next morning before he started his one hour japam. He asked me, "Do you know how many are the Nayanmars?"
I replied, "The Arupatthu Moover Utsavam is held (every year)! So, only sixty-three."
"Go to the Kapali temple, count and come back," he said. When I did it, I counted sixty-seven. I told this to PeriyavargaL.
"Who are those four people in excess?" he asked me.
I went back to the temple, inqured and came back. "One of them is the 'appAlum adi sarndharukku adiyAr!'" I said.
PeriyavargaL graced me with the knowledge, "appAl is those who are beyond desam and kAlam. Since the element of time is involved, it also refers to theadiyArs to be born in the hereafter. This man is beyond desam. He has just four janmas left."
Though PeriyavargaL who was such a jnani is not among us now, he is always living in his figure of grace and giving us abhayam.

 i happend to attend  a meeting in P.S.HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL DAKSHINAMURTHY AUDITORIOUM.
The follwoing main speakers shared the importance of Mahalaya Paksham  to the hindu audience present.
Sri T.S.Raghvan- Former CMD of Indian Bank & Bank of Maharashtra and presnt chairman of Giri trading agency private limited spoke about why we must do mahalaya tarpanam, importance of dharbai, kinds of dharbai usage of ellu, what is mangalam and amangalam etc. he quoted some emminent people who inspite of their proffession in big organisationa nd govenment officail perform sandhyavandanam, tarpanam sradham etc.
prema krishnamurthy - w/o SRI SRI KRISHNAMURTHI SHASTRIGAL SANSKRIT COLLEGE, spoke on wether womer can chant vedic mantras and what are the duties of brahmin women,
the wasy she spoke, i must say that all the present women would have revisited their daily duities after mami's speech. she said that women need not waste in learning vedas, while they can chant slokas there are so many slokas that will bring glory to their family and in paicular the husband who are the karma karta., she also insisted all the brahmin women to insist in making their husband, son/s in perfoming sa ndyavandanam, tarpanam ,mahalaya paksham etc which brings prosperity to their family.
shri Prakash Koushik- Teacher of sanskrit and who conducts vedic and hindu spiritaul classes spoke on mahalaya paksham quoting examples from the gita, ramayana, raguvamsam and garuda puranam. he insisted that it is we who need to perform the nitya karma and do tarpana whether vadyar comes or not we must from our depth of the heart perform the karma be it snadyavandanam, tarpanam or mahalayapaksha tarpanam.
Vaidika sri rajagopala ganapadigal- showed his knowledge in dharmas shastra and said that how one must respect shastram. he said that during th mahalaya paksham all our fore fathers come to our house and bless us and we attain prosperity  he gave several quoteds from dharma shatram
advocate and astroleger sri mani (blind man) he quoted examples from astrological science and said that how the nine planets influence our body and mind. he said that darba  can remove the guru, kethu dosha, ellu can remove our shani dosha, usage of navaratnam etc to gift the purohits means  your sins are wahed off during the mahalaya paksh
Mrs chandramouli, who is the author of mahalayapakshamahimai spoke about her experiences in coming out with the book.
 the meeting started at 5.30 pm and ended at 9.15 pm.
 the credit of the meeting goes to Mrs Meenakshi balu of MB CHARITIES& EDUCATIONAL TRUST. who have an aim of creating music school for blind and offer jobs for physically challenged people.

Birthday-நன்றி: ஒரு இமெயிலில் இருநது-Brahmin Association


சில மாதங்களில், ஒரே நட்சத்திரம் இரண்டு முறை வருகிறது. அந்த மாதத்தில் பிறந்த நாள் வரும் நிலையில், ஜன்ம நட்சத்திரமாக எதை எடுத்துக் கொள்வது?

இரண்டாவதாக வரும் நட்சத்திரத்தை எடுத்துக்கொள்வது சிறப்பு. சாஸ்திரமும் அதை ஏற்கும். நட்சத்திர மாதம் 27 நாட்களில் முடிவடையும். நாம் ஸெளரமானத்தை ஏற்கிறோம். ஒரு ராசியில் சூரியன் நுழைந்து மறு ராசியில் காலெடுத்து வைக்கும் நாள் வரை கணக்கிட்டு, ஒரு மாதமாக ஏற்கிறோம். இதன்படி, மாதங்களில் 29 நாளிலிருந்து 32 நாள் வரை வித்தியாசம் காணப்படுவதுண்டு (அதாவது, ஒரு மாதத்தில் 29 நாட்கள் வரும்; இன்னொரு மாதத்தில் 32 நாட்கள் இடம்பெறும்).
நாட்களின் அடிப்படையில் மாதத்தைக் கணக்கிட, 30 நாட்கள் எடுத்துக்கொள்வோம். ஸெளரமானம், நட்சத்திரமானம், ஸாவனம் - ஆகிய மூன்று அளவையில் இருக்கும் மாதங்களை... செய்யும் சடங்குக்கு ஏற்ப, பொருத்தமானதை தேர்ந்தெடுப் போம். உதாரணத்துக்கு... மகப்பேறு மாதத்தைக் கணக்கிடும்போது, நட்சத்திர மாதத்தை ஏற்போம். அங்கு ஸெளரமானமோ, ஸாவனமோ பொருந்தாது. ஸெளரம் 29-ல் இருந்து 32 வரை இருப்பதும், ஸாவனம் 30 நாளாக இருப்பதும் கணக்கிடுவதற்கு இடையூறாக இருக்கும். ஆகவே, அதற்கு நட்சத்திர மாதம்தான் பொருந்தும் என்கிறது ஜோதிடம்.
27 X 10 =  270 நாட்கள் தாண்டினால் மகப்பேறு நடைபெறுவது உண்டு. பத்து மாதம் சுமந்து பெற்றாள் என்கிற கோட்பாடு, நட்சத்திரமானத்துக்கு பொருத்தமாக இருக்கும். ஸெளரமானாலும் ஸாவனமானாலும் 30X10 = 300; 31X10 = 310 என்று தெளிவில்லாத காலத்தைக் குறிப்பிடும்.
ஓர் அயனம்- 6 மாதங்கள் (30 நாள் கொண்டது), ஒரு பருவ காலம், 2 மாதங் கள் ( அதாவது 60 நாள்கள்), ஒரு மாதம் (30 நாட்கள்), ஒரு பஷம் (15 நாள்), ஒரு நாள், ஒரு முகூர்த்தம் ஆகியவற்றைக் கூட்டினால்... அதாவது, 6 2 1 அரை மாதம் ஒரு நாள் மூன்றரை நாழிகை ஆகியவற்றைச் சேர்த்தால்...  9 மாதம், 16 நாள், 1 மணி, 24 நிமிடம் கழிந்தால்... குழந்தை வெளிவர ஆயத்தமாகிவிடும் என்று ஜோதிடம் தகவல் அளிக்கும் (அயனக்ஷணமாஸ...). 270 நாட்கள் நட்சத்திர மாதம்.அதையும் தாண்டும் மகப்பேறு, 300 நாட்களுக்கு முன்பே நிகழ்ந்துவிடும். இங்கு ஸெளரமோ நட்சத்திரமானமோ பொருந்தாது ஸாவனம்தான் பொருந்தும் என்பது கண்கூடு. அதுபோல், ஸெளரத்தை அளவுகோலாக வைத்து பிறந்த நாளைக் குறிப்பிடும் முறையை நாம் பின்பற்றுவதால், 2-வதாக வரும் நட்சத்திர நாள், முழு வருஷம் வந்து விட்டது என்பதை ஏற்கும் வகையில் பொருத்தமாக இருக்கும். முதலில் வரும் நட்சத்திரத்தை ஏற்றால், நாட்களின் அடிப்படையில் வருஷம் முடியாமலும் இருக் கும். ஆகவே, 2-வதாக வரும் நட்சத்திரத்தை ஏற்பது சிறப்பு.
