Dear All

The Kumbabishekam in our Sri Mariamman Temple will commence on 9th September and ends on 11th. V r planning to visit. They have given their requirement list to me and and making arrangements to get it. Mr. Sampath is arranging to get the Clothings from Sri Ranganathar temple.

A GOOD NEWS is that I met the Joint Commissioner of Sri Ranganthaswamy temple and appraised the fact about our Sri Lakshminarayana Perumal koil.He has immediately instructed Mr Sampath to meet the Temple Sthapathy and get the Estimate for not less than 20lacs to reconstruct the temple. We have to proceed after Ammavasai. Hope for the best.

சந்த்யாவந்தனமும் காயத்ரி ஜபமும்

ஒரு இ மெயிலில் இருநது:

சந்த்யாவந்தனமும் காயத்ரி ஜபமும் மிக முக்கியமானவை,

நன்றி! ஆவணி அவிட்ட சமயத்தில் இந்த பதிவு!

காயத்ரீ மந்திரத்தின் மகிமை — காஞ்சி மஹா பெரியவாள்

மூன்று தலைமுறையாக காயத்ரீயை விட்டு விட்டவன் பிராமணனாக மாட்டான். அப்பேர்ப்பட்டவர்கள் இருக்கிற தெரு அக்கிரஹாரம் ஆகாது. அது குடியானவர் தெருதான். ஆனால் இன்னும் மூன்று தலைமுறை ஆகவில்லையாகையால் இன்னும் பிராமணர்கள் என்று பெயராவது சொல்லலாம் என்று நினைக்கிறேன்.

மூன்று தலைமுறை யக்ஞம் இல்லாவிட்டால் அவன் துர்ப்பிராமணன்; கெட்டுப்போன பிராமணன். கெட்டாலும் ‘பிராமணன்’ என்ற பேராவது இருக்கிறது. மறுபடி பிராமணனாவதற்குப் பிராயச்சித்தம் சொல்லப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. ஆனால் காயத்ரீயை மூன்று தலைமுறையாக விட்டு விட்டால் பிராமணத்துவம் அடியோடு போய்விடுகிறது. அவன் மறுபடியும் பிராமணனாக உறவுக்காரர்களாக உடையவன். அதாவது, பிராமணர்களை உறவுக்காரர்களாக உடையவன் தான் !

ஆகையால் அந்த நெருப்புப் பொறியை ஊதிப் பெரிசு பண்ண வேண்டும். சின்ன நெருப்புப்பொறி எதற்கும் உபயோகப்படாது. ஆனால் உபயோகப்படுமாறு பெரிசாக்கப்படுவதற்கு அதில் ஆதாரம் இருக்கிறது.

ஆகையால் ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமையாவது பூணூல் உள்ளவர்கள் ஆயிரம் காயத்ரீ பண்ண வேண்டும். கண்ட இடத்தில் கண்ட ஆஹாரத்தை உண்ணலாகாது. இதுவரைக்கும் அனாசாரம் செய்ததற்குப் பிராயச்சித்தம் பண்ணிக்கொள்ள வேண்டும். இனியாவது கண்ட ஆஹாரத்தை உண்ணாமல், மந்திர சக்தி இருப்பதற்குத் தேகத்தைப் பரிசுத்தமாக வைத்துக் கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

‘சஹஸ்ர பரமா தேவி சதா மத்யா தசாவரா‘ என்ற (தைத்ரீய ஆரண்யக வாக்குப்) படி ஆயிரம் ஆவிருத்தி உச்சரிப்பது உத்தமம்; நூறு ஜபிப்பது மத்யமம்; அதம பட்சம் பத்து.

காலை ஸந்தி, மத்தியான வேளை, மாலை ஸந்தி என்று ஒவ்வொரு காலத்திலும் பத்து காயத்ரீயாவது எத்தனை ஆபத்துக் காலத்திலும் ஜபம் பண்ண வேண்டும். இந்த மூன்று காலங்களும், சாந்தம் உண்டாகிற காலம். காலையில் பக்ஷி முதலிய பிராணிகளும் மனிதர்களும் எழுந்திருக்கும் காலம். அப்பொழுது மனது சாந்தியாக இருக்கும். சாயங்காலம் எல்லோரும் வேலையை முடித்து ஓய்ந்திருக்கும் காலம். அதுவும் சாந்தமான காலம். மத்தியான காலத்தில் சூரியன் உச்சியில் இருக்கிறான். அப்பொழுது மனத்துக்கு சாந்தமான காலம். இந்த மூன்று காலங்களிலும், காயத்ரீ, ஸாவித்ரீ, ஸரஸ்வதீ என்று மூன்று பிராகாரமாகத் தியானம் செய்ய வேண்டும். காலையில் பிரம்ம ரூபிணியாகவும், மத்தியான்னம் சிவ ரூபிணியாகவும், சாயங்காலம் விஷ்ணு ரூபிணியாகவும் தியானம் செய்ய வேண்டும்.

காயத்ரீயில் சகல வேத மந்திர சக்தியும் அடங்கியிருக்கிறது. மற்ற எல்லா மந்திரங்களுக்கும் சக்தியைக் கொடுப்பது அதுதான். அதை ஜபிக்கா விட்டால், வேறு மந்திர ஜபத்திற்குச் சக்தி இல்லை. ஹிப்னாடிசம் என்பதினால் பல காரியங்களைச் செய்கிறார்கள். மோக்ஷத்திற்குப் போக உதவும் ஹிப்னாடிசம் காயத்ரீ மந்திரம் ! ஆசையையடக்கி ஜன்மம் எடுத்ததன் பலனை அடையச் செய்கிற ஹிப்னாடிசம் காயத்ரீ ! லோக காரியங்களைக் குறைத்துக் கொண்டு இந்தப் பொறியை ஊதுவதை அதிகமாகச் செய்ய வேண்டும். அனாசாரத்தில் போகாமல் தேகத்தைச் சுத்தமாக வைத்துக் கொண்டால்தான் இந்த ஒரு பொறியாவது அணையாமலிருக்கும்.

சந்தியாவந்தனத்தில் அர்க்கியமும் காயத்ரீயும் முக்கியமானவை. மற்றவையெல்லாம் அதற்கு அங்கமானவை. அசக்தர்களாயிருப்பவர்கள் அர்க்கியத்தைக் கொடுத்து விட்டுப் பத்து காயத்ரீயாவது ஜபிக்க வேண்டும். ‘அந்த இரண்டு தானே முக்கியம் ? அவற்றை மட்டும் செய்து விடலாம்’ என்றால் வரவர அவற்றுக்கும் லோபம் வந்துவிடும். ஆபத்திலும், அசக்தியிலும் பத்து காயத்ரீ போதும் என்பதால் எப்போதும் இப்படிப் பத்தே பண்ணினால், அப்படிப் பண்ணுகிறவர்களுக்கு எப்போதும் ஆபத்தும், அசக்தியுமாகத்தான் இருக்கும்’ என்று ஒரு பண்டிதர் வேடிக்கையாகச் சொன்னார். ஆகையால் அங்கபுஷ்களத்தோடு எதுவும் குறைவின்றிச் செய்து வந்தால்தான் முக்கியமானது நன்றாக நிற்கும். ஆபத்துக் காலத்திலும்கூட அவற்றைச் செய்து வர வேண்டும். காலம் தப்பாமல் செய்ய வேண்டும். பாரத யுத்தத்தின் போது ஜலம் அகப்படாதபோது கூடத் தூளியை (புழுதியை) வைத்துக் கொண்டு காலம் தவறாமல் சேனா வீரர்கள் அர்க்கியம் கொடுத்தார்களென்று சொல்லப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.

அஸ்தமன காலத்திலும், உதய காலத்துக்கு முன்பும், உச்சிக் காலத்திலும் அர்க்கியம் கொடுக்க வேண்டும். இடைக்காட்டுச் சித்தர் என்று ஒருவர் இருந்தார். சித்தர்கள் வினோதமான காரியங்கள் பண்ணுவார்கள்; புதிராகப் பேசுவார்கள். இடைக்காட்டுச் சித்தர் ஆடு மேய்த்தார். அவர், ‘காணாமல் கோணாமற் கண்டு கொடு ! ஆடுகாண் போகுது பார் போகுது பார் !’ என்று சொல்லி இருக்கிறார். ‘காணாமல்‘ என்றால் காண்பதற்கு முன்பு என்று அர்த்தம். அதாவது சூரியோதயத்திற்கு முன் காலை அர்க்கியம் கொடுக்க வேண்டும். ‘கோணாமல்‘ என்பதற்கு சூரியன் தலைக்கு மேலே இருக்கும்போது என்று அர்த்தம். அதாவது சூரியன் மேற்காகச் சாய்வதற்கு முன் உச்சிக் காலத்தில் மாத்யான்னிக அர்க்கியம் கொடுக்க வேண்டும். ‘கண்டு‘ என்பதற்கு சூரியன் இருக்கும்போது என்று அர்த்தம். சூரியன் அஸ்தமிப்பதற்கு முன்பு மலைவாயிலில் இருக்கும் பொழுதே சாயங்கால அர்க்கியம் கொடுக்க வேண்டும். இந்த விஷயங்களைத் தான் அந்தச் சித்தர் லேசாகச் சொல்லியிருக்கிறார். ‘ஆடு‘ என்றால் ‘நீராடு !‘ அதாவது ‘கங்கையில் ஸ்நானம் பண்ணு‘ என்பது அர்த்தம். ‘போகுது பார்‘ என்றால் ‘த்ரிகால சந்தியாவந்தனத்தாலும் கங்கா ஸ்நானத்தினாலும், சேது தரிசனத்தினாலும் நம் பாபம் தொலைந்து போகிறதைப் பார் !’ என்று அர்த்தம். காசிக்குப் போய் கங்கையை எடுத்துக் கொண்டு, சேதுவான ராமேஸ்வரத்துக்குப் போய் ராமநாத சுவாமிக்குக் கங்காபிஷேகம் பண்ணும் சம்பிரதாயத்தைத் தான் சொல்லியிருக்கிறார்!

காயத்ரீயைச் சரியாகப் பண்ணினால்தான் மற்ற வேத மந்திரங்களிலும் சித்தி உண்டாகும். அர்க்கியத்தையும், காயத்ரீயையும் தவறாமல் செய்து கொண்டு வர வேண்டும். ஜன்மத்தில் ஒரு தரமாவது கங்கா ஸ்நானமும், சேது தரிசனமும் பண்ண வேண்டும்.

ஒருவனுக்கு ரொம்பவும் ஜ்வரம் வந்தால், கூட இருக்கிறவர்கள் அவனுக்காக சந்தியாவந்தனம் பண்ணித் தீர்த்தத்தை ஜ்வரம் வந்தவன் வாயில் விட வேண்டும். இப்பொழுது நமக்கு நித்தியப்படி ஜ்வரம் வந்தது போலத்தான் இருக்கிறது.

ஜ்வரம் வந்தால் அதற்கு மருந்து அவசியம்; அதுபோல ஆத்மாவுக்கு வந்திருக்கிற பந்தம் என்ற ஜ்வரம் போகக் காயத்ரீ மருந்து அவசியமானது. அதை எந்தக் காலத்திலும் விடக் கூடாது. மருந்தை விட இதுதான் முக்கியமானது. ஒரு நாளாவாது சந்தியாவந்தனத்தை விட்டு விட்டோமென்று இருக்கக் கூடாது.

காயத்ரீ ஜபம் பண்ணுவது எல்லாராலும் ஆகிய காரியம்தான். இதிலே ஜலத்தைத் தவிர வேறு திரவியம் வேண்டாம். சரீரப் பிரயாசையும் இல்லை. லகுவாகப் பரம சிரேயஸைத் தரும் ஸாதனம். ஆயுள் இருக்கிற வரைக்கும் சந்தியாவந்தனத்துக்கு லோபம் வராமல் பண்ண வேண்டும்.

காயத்ரீயை மாத்ரு ரூபமாக (தாய் வடிவமாக) உபாசிக்க வேண்டும். பகவான் பல வித ரூபங்களில் வந்து பக்தர்களுக்குக் கிருபை செய்கிறார். நம்மிடம் எல்லாரையும் விட அன்பாக இருப்பது மாதா தான். தாயாரிடம் எதை வேண்டுமானாலும் பயம் இல்லாமல் சொல்லலாம். பகவான் எல்லா ரூபமாக இருந்தாலும் மாதா ரூபமாக வந்தால் ரொம்பவும் ஹிதமாக இருக்கிறது. காயத்ரீயை அப்படிப்பட்ட மாதாவென்று வேதம் சொல்லுகிறது.

பல வித மந்திரங்கள் இருக்கின்றன, அவற்றை ஜபம் பண்ணுவதற்கு முன்பு, இன்ன இன்ன பலனை உத்தேசித்துப் பண்ணுகிறேன் என்று சொல்லுகிறோம். காயத்ரீ மந்திரத்தினுடைய பலன் சித்த சுத்தி தான்; மன மாசு அகலுவதுதான். மற்ற மந்திரங்களால் உண்டாகிற பலன்களெல்லாம் கடைசியில் சித்த சுத்தி உண்டாகத் தான் இருக்கின்றன. அதுவே காயத்ரீக்கு நேரான பலன்; ஒரே பலன்.

இந்தக் காலத்தில் காலையிலும், சாயங்காலத்திலும் எல்லாரும் காலந் தவறாமல் சந்தியாவந்தனம் செய்யலாம். சீக்கிரம் ஆஃபீசுக்குப் போக வேண்டியவர்கள் மத்தியான வேளையில் வீட்டிலிருக்க முடியாதாகையால், பிராதஃகாலம் ஆனபின் அதாவது சூரியோதயத்திலிருந்து ஆறு நாழிகை ( 2 மணி 24 நிமிஷம்) கழித்து வரும் சங்கவ காலத்தில், அதாவது 8 .30 மணி சுமாருக்கு மாத்தியான்ஹிக அர்க்கியத்தைக் கொடுத்து ஜபிக்க வேண்டும்.

அதாவது நம்மால் அடியோடு முடியாமற் போனாலன்றித் திரிகால சந்தியோபாஸனை இல்லாமல் இருக்கவே கூடாது. அடியோடு முடியாமல் ஜுரம் வந்தால் மற்றவர்களிடம், ‘கஞ்சி கொடு, தீர்த்தம் கொடு’ என்று சொல்லுவதைப் போல, ‘எனக்காக சந்தியாவந்தனம் பண்ணு’ என்று சொல்ல வேண்டும்.

மந்திர சக்தியானது அணையாமல் விருத்தியாகக் கிருபை செய்ய வேண்டுமென்று பகவானை எல்லோரும் பிரார்த்திப்போமாக!

Vaidehi will be celebrating her grand dughters , Thushara,  marriage on 19th June.

Another Auto Experience

Some time back I mentioned about my experience with Automen.

Here is another one:
Yesterday one Automan (Share Auto) wanted Rs.7/- from Thambaram Rly Stn (Eastern Side) to the nearest bus stop, to go to Sholinganallur. Being a share Auto I felt the charges are on the higher side and I said so to the Automan.

The automan mockingly said " then walk the distance! ".  I thanked him for this and proceeded to walk.  The terminus was at a sharter distance than I expected.

I continued my travel in the Metropolitan Transport Bus and It costed Just
Rs.5.50 for a distance of about 18KM.

My double thanks to Automan and the MTC Bus.

இன்று  ஸ்ரீராம நவமி. மிகவும்  போற்றுதற் குரிய  மஹா  புருஷன் அவதரித்த நாள். உலகெங்கிலும்  இவருடைய  பெயர்  பல ஆயிரம் ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னே இருந்தே  பரவி இருந்திருக்கிறது.   உலகெங்கிலும்  பல நாட்டு  மன்னர்கள்  இவருடைய  பெயரை  வைத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தனர்.  இவரைப்பற்றிய்  ராமாயண  காவியங்கள் ஏராளம்  அவருடைய  வாழ்க்கையில் ஏராள  சம்பவங்கள்.  சாதித்தவை ஏராளம்.  அப்படியென்ன பெருமை அவரிடம் இருந்தது?

ஒன்றே ஒன்றை மட்டும் , சிறு துளியாக , உங்களிடம்  பகிர்ந்துகொள்ள  ஆசைப்படுகிறேன்.  தற்காலத்திற்கு   மிகவும் பொருத்தமானதாக  இருக்கும்.

எல்லோருக்கும்  பிறப்பு  எப்படியோ  அப்படியே  இறப்பும்.  யாரும்  விதிவிலக்கல்ல.  ராமன் எப்படிப்பட்டவர்  அவருக்கே  இறப்பு ஏற்ப்பட்டது.

எப்படிப்பட்டவர்?  

6 அடிக்குமேல்  உயரம்.  கருத்த.மேனி. பறந்து விரிந்த  மார்பு. கருணை,  வீரம், 

அழகு கொண்ட கண்கள்.  திடகாத்திரமான  உருவம்.

நாட்டை ஆண்ட வருடங்கள்  10000 

அவருடைய மக்களின் சராசரி வயது  1000 

அவருடைய ஆட்சியில்  விதவைகள் இல்லை. 

சிறு வயதுக்காரர்கள்  இறந்து  பெரியவர்கள் காரியங்கள் செய்யும் நிலை இல்லை. 

எல்லோரிடத்திலும்  எல்லா செல்வங்களும்  இருந்தன.

எவரும்  மற்றவர்  சொத்திற்கு  ஆசைப்படவில்லை. 

யாருடைய மனத்திலும் இது தேவை, அது தேவை  என்ற அதிகப்படியான 

எண்ணமே  இல்லை. 

கொலை, கொள்ளை  என்ற குற்றங்க்கள் இல்லவே இல்லை.

பயம் என்பதே இல்லை.

ஒரு இளம்  வயது  பெண்  சகல  ஆபரணங்களுடன்  தனியாக யாருடைய 

துணையும் இன்றி  இமயம் முதல் குமரி வரை  இரவு பகல்  என்று  எந்த  நேரத்திலும்  பிரயாணம்  செய்யலாம். 

ஈ,  கொசு போன்ற  தொல்லைகள் இல்லை. ஆகவே  எல்லா  மக்களும்  ஆரோக்யமாக  இருந்தனர். 

சோகம் என்பதே இல்லை. 

இப்படிப்பக்ட்ட ராமருக்கே  சரயு நதியில் மூழ்கி இறப்பு நேர்ந்தது.

ஆகவே , பாண்டவர்களே,  துக்கத்திலிரிந்து  விடுபட்டு உங்களுடைய  கடமையில்  கவனம் செலுத்துங்கள் .

இப்படி செல்கிறது  பாரதம். 

ஆகவே மேற்கண்டவைதான்  ராமராஜ்யத்தின்  ஒரு துளி.

இதுதான் வேண்டும் என்று  காந்திஜி  முதற்கொண்டு  நம்முடைய  சுதந்திர 

வீரர்கள்  கண்ட கனவு. 

இன்று நாம், நம்முடைய  நாடு எப்படி ??????

Safe. Hope everyone is doing well at their places. How is manni?

From Amavasai the Sriramanavami utsavam at Karaipatti started and going on as per the information received from Mr. Kannan. The Kalyana utsavam will be performed on 14th April, which is Tamil New year's day, so we could not attend. On 15th after Anjaneya Utsavam the Deities will be taken to the nearest village Manjampatti as per the wish of the villagers. The expenses will be born by them and they have to pay a sum of Rs.00- to the Bajanaimadam for the renovation and maintanance. Like this the other villagers may also requet to do so in the coming months.

Now we have to arrange for the construction of thecompund wall and a toilet for the usage of the people like us. Though we could not attend the utsavam now, we may attend the village in the days to come. So it is outr prime duty to take care of the bajanai madam and the Deities which we have kept there. I would request you, as the eledest person in our Family, to communicate this to our relatives and come forward to donate a minimum of Rs. 1000/- per family and the persons who can afford to donate liberally can also do so.

We were planninng to collect rss.150/- per month from every family, but no one has come forward. Since it is more than a year now they can comensate this.

ஆன்மா

நெய் பாலுக்குள் இருக்கிறது.
ஆநால் அது   நம் கண்களுக்கு தெரிவதில்லை.
பாலை பாலாக வைத்திருந்தால் அது ஒரு நாளில் கெட்டுவிடுகிறது.
பாலைக் காய்ச்சி  சற்று  உறை ஊற்றி  வைத்தால்  மறுநாள்  அது  தயிராகிறது.
இதே  தயிரைக் கடைந்து  மோரும் வெண்ணையுமாய் பிரித்துவிட்டால்,  அதே  பால்

ஒரு வாரத்திற்குள் இவை  கெட்டு விடுகின்றன.
வெண்ணையை  நெய்யாக்கினால், அதன் இயல்பின் படி, நெய் உலகம் உள்ளளவும் அழிவதில்லை.

ஆக ஒரே நாளில் கெட்டுப் போகக்கூடிய பாலுக்குள்ளே  உலகம் அழியும் வரை கெடாமல்
இருக்கும் நெய்  மறைந்திருக்கிறது.

இதன் கருத்தாக்கம், அழியக்கூடிய  உடலுக்குள்  அழிவற்ற ஆன்மா  இருக்கிறது.
அந்த ஆன்மாவே,  தான்,   என்று யார் ஒருவன் உணர்கின்றானோ, அவன்  அழிவற்ற 
நிலை  அடைகிறான்.  அவனுக்கு மரணம் என்பதே இல்லை. 
நான் என்பது எப்பொழுதும் நான் இல்லை,  எனது எண்ணம் ஒன்றே  நானாக இருக்கிறது , என்று
கூறுகிறது ஒரு ஹிந்து  தத்துவம்.
மனித ஆத்மாவே  கடவுள் என்கிறது மற்றொரு  ஹிந்து  தத்துவம்.
ஆக, ஒவ்வொரு தனி மனிதனும்  கடவுளை தன்னுள் கொண்டுள்ளான் என்பதே இதன் கூற்று.

இவ்விதமாய்  நீங்களும்  நானும் எல்லோரும்  கடவுள் ஆகிறோம்.

Karappatti Update

Fellow Karappatti-ans (does it sound good?),
It is almost a year.  After the Sudarshana Homam, there was not much to convey about Karappatti Temple.

One important event was the sad demise of Sivaraman, a pillar of strenth for our work. We convey our sorrow and anguish to the family.

Birthday musings

It is almost a year since I wrote anything on this Blog. Better late than never.

Today is my birth day as per tamil almanac. Makara masa Chithrai Nakshathram. I am just entering my 79th year.
Normally I do not even try to remember the date.  There are so much to do, I do not have time to. I came to know only
after my Dharma Pathni reminded me of this and my next generation started calling on me to wish.

My thought immediately goes to Ramayana Days. Dasaratha Maharaja ruled for 60 thousand years.  Then what was his age
when he died? Rama lived for 10000 years and his subjects 1000 years.  Compared to that I am just a new born, perhaps a few hours.

Thamizh Varuda Pirappu-Start of Tamil New Year-New Year Sankalpam

In about few days time, a New Tamil Year, as per the movement of the SUN (Suryamana) is going to begin. Before independance, most of the population were using the Tamil system of months and year in their daily activities and even the alphabets were in Tamil system. If you can get copies of Panchangam (Almanac) printed in the year 1947 and before , you will find Tamil Alphabets. Even we studied in our schools the  Tamil system of writing Alphabets, weights and measurements.  After independance, those systems should have been strenthened.  Instead we have become more anglised than the Englishman.  We have completely discarded them except for some religious
activity. We should salute our Vedic Scholors and Religious Heads for keeping this tradition still alive . The Sankalpa we recite before performing every ceremony is the recitation of the complete calender of that day from of the CREATION OF THE MOTHER EARTH.  It clearly says exactly the year, month , the day and the time at which we are going to perform that particular act since the creation of the earth.  The details are available in the earlier posts on this site.  I had also requested the viewers to consider the notation for the Tamil System of Calender. As this site is not popular, no response from them. 

As a humble man, I have decided, as a first step, to use a method similar to the Gregorian calander i,e., 1-1-Kaliyuga Year, in my day-to-day activities wherever the date is to be mentioned.
