Vishnusthalangal

108 Vaishnava Divya Desangal

Among the various temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu, there are 108 temples which are designated to be DIVYA DESAMS. These are actually the places worshipped and sung by Alwars, the saintly poets who immersed themselves in the divine ocean of Lord Vishnu. Their whole life was devoted to the the 12 Alwars had

Thus, 106 temples have been addressed by the Tamil Alwars, who were pillars of the Sri Vaishnava tradition that wasto evolve in Tamilnadu. The contrast in the nature of these temples is stunning, given the diversity in the Indiansubcontinent. Even a virtual visit to these 106 shrines across the nation, is quite an experience, and is illustrative of this contrast, given the difference in the nature of temples in the various regions such as the Kaveri basin, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, the Tirunelveli region, the Gangetic plains and the Himalayas.

A BRIEF REPORT--Bhajanaimadam

Friends,
The Bhajanaimadam has been rebuilt with Asbestos top  with shelter in front.  All the Deities have been placed in their Abode.  Sufficient vacant land is available in the back yard of the Madam with a well in the Easanya Corner. A kind hearted soul has donated some portion of his land so that sufficient land is available for any future expansion  There is a need for safety.  The proposal is to erect compound wall, costing about 2,00,000/-, in all the directions so that entire area is protected including the Main Bldg.

As there is no Uthsavamurthy for LORD LAKSHMINARAYANA PERUMAL, Veedhi Purappadu is not possible.

The Madappalli within the Temple premises is getting ready and only the fixing of the door is remaining.  Already offer of vessals for the Madappalli has been received.

After some discussion the following decisions were taken:

1. The cost for Uthsavamurthy is to be ascertained and a possible donar is to be found.
2. Each member should contribute a monthly subscription of Rs.150/- for the creation of a permanent
source of income, effective from Jan 2010.
3. Every third Saturday will be the day of gathering of the devotees from out side Karappatti
    starting from Feb. 2010.
