Thamizh Varuda Pirappu-Start of Tamil New Year-New Year Sankalpam
In about few days time, a New Tamil Year, as per the movement of the SUN (Suryamana) is going to begin. Before independance, most of the population were using the Tamil system of months and year in their daily activities and even the alphabets were in Tamil system. If you can get copies of Panchangam (Almanac) printed in the year 1947 and before , you will find Tamil Alphabets. Even we studied in our schools the Tamil system of writing Alphabets, weights and measurements. After independance, those systems should have been strenthened. Instead we have become more anglised than the Englishman. We have completely discarded them except for some religious
activity. We should salute our Vedic Scholors and Religious Heads for keeping this tradition still alive . The Sankalpa we recite before performing every ceremony is the recitation of the complete calender of that day from of the CREATION OF THE MOTHER EARTH. It clearly says exactly the year, month , the day and the time at which we are going to perform that particular act since the creation of the earth. The details are available in the earlier posts on this site. I had also requested the viewers to consider the notation for the Tamil System of Calender. As this site is not popular, no response from them.
As a humble man, I have decided, as a first step, to use a method similar to the Gregorian calander i,e., 1-1-Kaliyuga Year, in my day-to-day activities wherever the date is to be mentioned.

Karappatti-Update
Homan can be done during May 2010. It is good and everyone can participate in that. The local people will also like it. Before that v have to ascertain the exact date for the same. Then the following things have to be done. How may persons will come from our side? One day Homam, but v have to be there on previous day. and after the homam we have to be there for the next day too to finalise the things.
Totally 3 days we have to plan.
For the Stay and the food we have to arrange. If we can stay in Karaipatti itself,we can accommodate 10 persons in Sri Sivaranman's house as we stayed before 3 years. For the rest we have to arrange the place. Presently the house in which Sri Vasu was residing is vaccant and we can ask for the same tooApart from this we can (Males) stay in Bajanai Madam. We can arrange for the cooking in the rear side of the Bajanai madam by engaging the cooks, for which we have meet in person and decide on those things-including the estmated expenses etc.,
Regarding the Bajanai madam:
With the collected funds it has been arranged to construct the walls in the front varandha and provide windows. We have to provide the gates and doors in that area.
Secondly, we have to arrange to take the compoud wall on the rear side to a minimum of 30 feet length on the westernside to the height of 10 feet and provide the shed for our purposes.Apart from this we have to arrange for the kitchen to keep as permanent one and for our use.Above all it is absolutely necessary to prove toilets and bathrooms on the southernside of the madam. These are all the minimum requirement.
If we perform the homam in the existing place of the bajanaimadam, we can not accommodate to see the same. We have to perform only on the rear side of the bajanaimadam. If so we have to clean and arrange for the proper flooring. It has been decided to collect a sum of Rs. 150/- per head per month from 100 persons minimum. So u have to list out the persons from our side who can contribute to this cause and the amount to be collected from Januart 2010, so that the fund can be used for the above purposes.U have to ascertain from our brother-in-law about the approximate amount required for the Homam. It is also to be decided how it is going to be arranged
So consider all these and kindly inform, so that we can decide at the time of our next visit to K Patti during Srirama Navami. Also contact Mr. Sampath and Varadhan on this.

Karappatti update
Sudarshana Homam
We spoke to many of our relatives and they are receptive to the idea of
Homam during May. I have also spoken to them reg. the neccessity of sending the money.
Kuppu and Chi Sampath visited Karaipatti on 10th and stayed there upto 13.3.2010. We got some more materials from the shop from whom we have to get the balance to the tune of Rs. 9500/- such as Sahasratharas 3 for Thirumanjanam, Theevatti 2 in Brass, VenChamaram 2, Kumba Deepam 1 Karpoora Thattu with seven Mugams 1. V got the Electricity connection in the name of Bajanai madam on 10.3.10.

V got the Electricity connection in the name of Bajanai madam on 10.3.10.
We have to carry out the other works. It is proposed to commence the Sri Rama Navami Utsavam from 16th to 26th. from 1st day to 8th day the local people will have to perform the bajans and distribution of prasadams in the evenings. On 24-3-10 NAVAMI This day will be taken care of by Mr. V Kasturi. On Seethakalyana day 25.3.10 All the persons have to participate and contribute, On this day it has been proposed to conduct Unjavrithi, Bajan
Mahaneivedyam and feeding the people. In the evening there will be the THIRUVEETHI ULA as was done on 31.1.2010.
Last time we have arranged the van to perform Tiruveethi Ula which was accepted by the people but they were not able to have Dharsan clearly. So it has been proposed on that day itself to have Ratham from the next Tiruveethi Ula. Now we have made arrangement to fabricate one Iron cart with 4 wheels and platform for 6feet by 4 feet provided with wooden plank and a Peetam. This will cost approximately Rs. 10,000/= So far we have collected nearly 3,00,000/ and spent 3.2 lacs by borrowing from others. So it is absolutely necessary to take up the matter to the persons who can come forward to donate for this in tamil RATHAM. It planned to decorate on a later date with some frames to make it like a THEAIR.
Myself and SAmpath are planning ot visit on 22nd or 23rd to take part in that function. U r requested to come there with the persons who are interested to take part in our Village functrion and get the BLESSINGS of the LORD.
V have to discuss so many things on this and also about the future course of action such as maintenance and Corpus fund etc.
Sriramanavami functions will be conducted for 3 days from 24th to 26th. It will be concluded on 26th with SriAnjaneyar utsavam. V have to decide about the futher course of action at bajanai madam and other activities. It has been decided to fabricate a cart to carry out the Thiruveethi Ula on the functions from Sriramanavami. It is costing about Rs.10000-/- approximately now. Then v have to add some frames to look like the Thear (Car).Regarding Sri Lakshminarayana Vigraham, v have to see at Swamimalai because the local people asking more. V wl decide.
To maintain and carry out the daily poojas, v r depending upon the local people, but they could not keep the door opened for Dharshans, because they are having their own activities. So after informing them I am in search of a person to do the job and v can pay a monthly amount,so that he can earn more by his capacity, as we are planning to instal Sri Anjaneya in front mandapam.
Finance
We have opened an account in Bank of India Thuvarankurichy and it will be handled by
Mr. Sivaraman and Sampath jointly. V have to communicate the message to the people and collect the amount at the monthly basis of 150/- per person or 1800/- for one year which has to be kept as Corpus fund and for maintenance.
All these things have to be discussed. So it is better if all could participate in the function, where we can decide
Administration
We arr planning to arrange to appoint Mr. Velu as Trusteear .

Thus, 106 temples have been addressed by the Tamil Alwars, who were pillars of the Sri Vaishnava tradition that wasto evolve in Tamilnadu. The contrast in the nature of these temples is stunning, given the diversity in the Indiansubcontinent. Karappatti-Update
The rebuilding of Main structure of Bhajanaimadam is complete. The Madappalli is nearing completion.
Perumal and Thayar have taken their abode in Bhajanaimadam.
Sriramanavami Uthsavam starting from Ugadhi is being organised.
There is a proposal to perform Sudarshana Homam during Mid May. About 20 families are
expected to participate.
A compound wall is to be erected to protect the Madam. Temporary structures to be ensured
for Homam Participants for their stay for atleast two days.
All these require funds and it was decided that each earning member should contribute a monthly
donation of Rs.150/- from 01/2010. Yearly mode is most welcome.
One of our elder members has been requested to work out the possible dates and details of
expenditure for the Homam.
So please be prepared to attend and participate in Homam
The detailed prograamme will be discussed during Ramanavami Uthsavam and will be communicated to
all by 1st week of April so that members can plan their travel arrangements

A BRIEF REPORT--Bhajanaimadam
Friends,
The Bhajanaimadam has been rebuilt with Asbestos top with shelter in front. All the Deities have been placed in their Abode. Sufficient vacant land is available in the back yard of the Madam with a well in the Easanya Corner. A kind hearted soul has donated some portion of his land so that sufficient land is available for any future expansion There is a need for safety. The proposal is to erect compound wall, costing about 2,00,000/-, in all the directions so that entire area is protected including the Main Bldg.
As there is no Uthsavamurthy for LORD LAKSHMINARAYANA PERUMAL, Veedhi Purappadu is not possible.
The Madappalli within the Temple premises is getting ready and only the fixing of the door is remaining. Already offer of vessals for the Madappalli has been received.
After some discussion the following decisions were taken:
1. The cost for Uthsavamurthy is to be ascertained and a possible donar is to be found.
2. Each member should contribute a monthly subscription of Rs.150/- for the creation of a permanent
source of income, effective from Jan 2010.
3. Every third Saturday will be the day of gathering of the devotees from out side Karappatti
starting from Feb. 2010.
